The movie is mainly about Alice Johnson once again being taunted by Freddy Krueger, who is also after her unborn child.
The movie was a moderate box office success. It was made on a budget of $8,000,000 and earned over $22,000,000. The film was rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. It was banned in Iceland.
A sequel, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, was released in 1991.
