Friday the 13th Part 2 is a 1981 horror slasher film. It is a sequel to the 1980 movie Friday the 13th. It was directed by Steve Miner and written by Ron Kurz and Victor Miller. It stars Betsy Palmer as Pamela Voorhees, Amy Steel as Ginny Field, and Warrington Gillette as Jason Voorhees. The movie is about Jason Voorhees being resurrected from the dead and avenging the death of his mother, who had been attempting to avenge his death in the previous film.
The movie was a moderate box office success, having been made on a budget of $1.05 million and earning more than $21,000,000. Friday the 13th Part 2 was rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America, an unrated and uncut version was also released in the United States. The film was banned in Finland until 2002 and banned in Norway until 2003.
A sequel, Friday the 13th Part III, followed in 1982.
