Goblins are monsters found in the 1986 video game Might and Magic Book One: The Secret of the Inner Sanctum. Their hit points and speed are average, but they make up for this with above-average armor class and damage dealing capabilities.
They are vulnerable to both ranged attacks and magical spells, and classes wielding such implements can put down a Goblin before it ever reaches melee range.
In the original game they appear to be genetically related to the games' Gnolls, and share the same sprite as them. When ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System however they were given their own sprite, appearing more demonic and sinister than their original counterparts.
