Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is a book of spooky stories. It contains twenty-nine stories, most of which end with a scream or a yell. The book has two sequels, More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones.
In 2014, CBS Films announced that they had acquired the rights to produce a film trilogy based on the book series. It is being written by John August, and as of 2016 has director Guillermo del Toro attached to the project, as well.
