Slender: The Eight Pages is a free downloadable survival horror video game developed Parasec Productions. The game is based on the character Slender Man, the paranormal creature who either abducts or kills people, mainly children, in the dark.
In the game, the player is in a dark forest, only armed with a flashlight and must find Slender Man's eight pages in order to beat the game. But once a page is found, it gets harder and harder because Slender Man can randomly appear in front of or behind the player and kill him or her, making the game a challenge.
The game takes place in a dark forest with lots of trees, and there is a setting to turn fog on, where it makes it foggier every time a page is collected. The player also has the option to turn on daytime, in which it is not dark and one can see perfectly without a flashlight. There was also a comedy mode called $20 mode, in which whenever Slender Man popped up he would sing "Give me $20", but the mode was removed due to copyright issues.
In the spring of 2013, a sequel called Slender: The Arrival was released with improved graphics and more areas to explore. Unlike in the previous game, the player explores abandoned homes and factories and it is said to be scarier. However, unlike Slender: The Eight Pages, Slender: The Arrival is not free.
